Maria Victoria (Marvic) Lewis is a name at the forefront of the Industrial Metal Scene on the island of Malta. She is the lead lady in the band Indigo Darkpsych, and they have just recently released their latest record, 'These Are The Roots', which Marvic wrote and co produced - so she is not just a pretty face :). Ravenheart Music is very keen to help this lass along her path to stardom, so why not start with an interview?....so we will! Hi Marvic, great having the opportunity to chat with you. Can you tell us a little about yourself and how you got into the music business? I know you told me about your name as I have already asked ya! But can you tell our readers a little about your name Marvic? Can you tell us about the musicians involved in your musical projects? I am interested about your previous release 'Struck'. That record to me certainly had a commercial appeal in the mold of Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson, if you do not mind me saying so. I am assuming (although I may be wrong) that this album was released by yourself and not have the backing of a label. How was this record received by the media and the record buying public? I honestly feel that with the backing of a label, that album could have done well. That now takes me onto your latest release 'These Are The Roots'. Whereas the previous album was released under the moniker INDIGO, the latest record is released under the name INDIGO DARKPSYCH. I assume this is to reflect the heavier and perhaps darker nature of the music? Can you give us a little insight into this latest release? And for those who are unfamiliar with your current musical style, how would you describe your music, and do you have any fave tracks across your two cds? I must say myself that although the two albums differ in style, they are both equally as awesome. I recently interviewed the Ravenheart Band Weeping Silence, who are also from Malta. Can you give us your perception of the metal music scene on Malta? And what is the gig scene like over there? Can you give us more information about the video that accompanies the track 'Rip It Down'? When you are relaxing, what do you like to do in your spare time? And do you have any vices (bad habits :) )? If on the road and if you was given a choice, what band or musician would you dearly like to tour with? And what are your expectations of the female rock and metal scene as a whole in Europe and across the USA? Marvic..many many thanks for this little chat. I am hoping to maybe meet up with you soon in the UK, all I can say to our readers is "watch this space". But is there anything you would like to say to the readers of this website?
