Neven Bio 2024 Neven is one of the bands spearheading Belgrade’s revitalized hardcore scene. With themes of introspection, personal growth, straight edge and Krishna consciousness the band harkens back to the movement’s New York roots but with a decidedly modern and much heavier spin. Their live shows back home draw in audiences across genre lines with the band playing everything from hardcore/metal venues and punk squats to alternative and indie centric clubs. The energy at Neven shows is undeniably electric as fans show up night after night to mosh and scream along. Neven was formed in December 2021. by founding members Miloš Stevanović, Relja Popović and original bassist Danilo Ristić (of Headhop). With Marko Remenjak on drums the band recorded and self-released a demo in mid 2022. and soon after played shows in Belgrade, Smederevo and Novi Sad with Kole (of Šajzerbiterlemon). By early 2023. the band’s lineup was set in stone as Igor Kuzmanović (of Nabod) and Mihailo Kljun (of Majak) joined the band on drums and bass respectively. With this lineup the band had a very prolific year. The band recorded a six song EP at studios Citadela (Quasarborn, Majak, Reckoning) and Brontosaurus (Zicer inc.) with three tracks included on the “BGxHC - Novo poglavlje” compilation and the rest to be released in mid 2024. In June the first single and music video was released titled “Ostajem pozitivan” (I Stay Positive) which drew in eyes from a more mainstream audience. The year also saw Neven cross borders to play shows in Sofia, Zagreb, Split and Mostar as part of their Balkan: First step regional tour. As of early 2024. the band is partnered with Geenger Records and with the planned release of a second music video and EP this year is shaping up to be even bigger than the last.Notable live shows include To Be Punk, Antibal, Ljubav i bes and Attack fest.
